Earth Day Retreat

A Spiritual Celebration for the Environmentally Conscious

April 13, 2019.  9:00am - 1:00pm

Every year a day is set aside in April to honor our Mother Earth.…

However, the importance and symbolism,  the day quickly fades as we get back to our busy lives.  In Buddhism, respect for the natural world and all the many beings is a daily practice.......Earth Day is every day!

Come join The Monks of Pine Wind as we will reflect on our interdependent relationship with the environment through a Buddhist lens.  We will probe various aspects of our current environmental situation from a spiritual perspective.  In doing so we will be better prepared to more skillfully bring wisdom and compassion to the natural world through our actions.

The retreat will be led by Rev. Emyo Richard Bizub who will share his 42 years of environmental experience. The program will include teachings, seated meditation, walking meditation on the Monastery’s Peace Trail (weather permitting) and informal discussions.

We will also view and discuss the inspiring documentary:  Renewal – Stories from America’s Religious-Environmental Movement. The documentary focuses on American’s who are answering a spiritual call to deal with environmental challenges from within their Christian, Jewish, Buddhist and Muslim traditions.

Program begins at 9:00 am and concludes at 1:00 pm
