Zen Chat
(LEP) - An Evening With
Seijaku Roshi
While we are all
born with the mind of clarity and wisdom, the mind of compassion
and self-confidence, we lose touch with it as we begin to
develop an "idea" of "my-Self". Disconnecting with our original
state of mind, this self becomes our number-one preoccupation as
well as a barrier to fulfilling dreams and living life to the
fullest.
The Way of Zen helps us discover how to recognize and settle
into our place in the world, and to encounter it through the
quality of all victorious mastery.
With Seijaku's skillful interaction, lively dialogue and sharing
with students and guests, we learn the wisdom of our true-nature
and begin shedding our fears. We can then begin to live more
purposeful and more joyful lives.
-
These series of
talks given by Seijaku Roshi, will present how participants can
apply ancient strategies to meeting the challenges of
modern life with clarity, resilience and kindness.
-
There will be
opportunities for open discussion and questions.
-
During the course
of the talks, there will be suggested practices and experiential
exercises, that participants can bring to their daily life and
relationships.
Including guided meditation and visualization techniques.
If you have ever
wondered how to live a life that meets your practical and
spiritual needs, you'll not want to miss a moment with Seijaku
Roshi and Friends!

Zen - Is A Relational Path - Part #3

"There is a myth that the
spiritual path is about becoming someone other than your little
sinful self. This cultural and sometimes religious lie when held
as true is poison. Authentic Spirituality is about taking
yourself completely as you are, finding your place in the world
and learning to encounter it with all victorious mastery. At the
end of the journey it is not God or The Buddha you will find, it
will be you as you truly are, and God or The Buddha in the same
room offering you a bowl of tea." - Seijaku Roshi
To love anyone else in your life or to be loved, you must first
love yourself "unconditionally". Learning to love yourself or
others without conditions is a function of detaching from the
"guilt-blame-shame game".
We will explore religious and
social myths that feed the "guilt-blame-shame" game and we can
transform this misinformation into opportunities for sustainable
joy and self-contentment.
The evening will include a gentle guided meditation, teaching,
and time for sharing and Q&A, followed by Refreshments.
Donation - $10 Individuals. $15 Spouses/Partners. $5 Students
(Student ID Required) and
