Zen
Chat - An Evening With Seijaku Roshi
While we are all born with the mind of clarity and wisdom, the mind
of compassion and self-confidence, we lose touch with it as we begin
to develop an "idea" of "my-Self". Disconnecting with our original
state of mind, this self becomes our number-one preoccupation. Zen
is a means, a guiding light, a process, through which we make our
way back, away from a fear-driven lifestyle and experience, from
chronic dissatisfaction, anxiety and the need to control, to the
recognition or reawakening of our inherent wholeness.
With Seijaku's skillful interaction, lively dialogue and sharing
with students and guests, we learn the wisdom of our true-nature and
begin shedding our fears. We can then begin to live more purposeful
and more joyful lives.
Satsang (literally translated means: "association with truth") with
Seijaku Roshi offers a profound and intimate opportunity to look
deeply at the meaning of authentic spirituality and living
an
authentic life.
Each satsang includes a period of meditation, followed by a talk
delivered by
Seijaku Roshi and then an open dialogue with the audience. Everyone
is invited to ask questions and share their personal experiences and
insights.
If you have ever wondered how to live a life that meets your
practical and spiritual needs, you'll not want to miss a moment of
Satsang with Seijaku!

The Spirit of
Practice
Zen and Faith-Based Spirituality
Zen spirituality
is a stream of consciousness that runs through many forms and is not restricted
to any one religious tradition. It is for this reason we
practice - "The Dharma Beyond Buddhism".
Join Seijaku
Roshi as he shares his experiences and insights as a Roman
Catholic in his earlier years and a Zen Monk, (and about the beauty
and truth he has found in each tradition), exploring the similarities and
differences between Zen and Faith-Based religions.
We will look
at such topics as "Faith in God",
"Salvation", "Prayer", "Meditation", "Sin",
the "Soul", and "Heaven and Hell" -
with a
Zen Mind of course.
"Our world is changing rapidly,
our need however to understand
the 'meaning of something larger than ourselves' remains true
even more than ever.
We need to focus on what is common
between us and forget the differences.
It's like any other family, sometimes you
need to look a little closer
to find out how close we really are.
If
we are ever going to resolve
human suffering in the world and the
ever growing global
crises,
we better keep looking!"
