Founded in 2000 by Seijaku Roshi, founder of The Zen Society (501C3 organization NJ 1985) and resident Spiritual Teacher, as a year-round Zen Center for resident clergy and non-residents.
Our name, Pine Wind was chosen during the first night residency when the Monks were impressed by the sound of the wind as it traveled through the pine trees. The formal name of the temple is Jizo-an. "Jizo" refers to the Bodhisattva of children and women, and points to the early years of Seijaku Roshi's work and dedication to children and single parents. "An" is a Japanese term for "small".
We welcome persons from all faith-based religions, spiritual traditions, and walks of life who would like to experience the life changing practice of Zen-Meditation and the friendship of a truly grounded Spiritual Community. To become involved at Pine Wind...

Lotus in the Fire
"The beauty of life is, while we cannot undo what is done,
we can see it, understand it, learn from it and change.
So that every new moment is spent not in regret, guilt, fear or anger,
but in wisdom, understanding and love."
