Mindfulness Meditation Retreats, Seminars and Workshops

Characterized by silence and deep introspection, a Meditation Retreat is recommended to anyone who is sincerely interested in deepening their spiritual practice and experiencing the benefits of mindfulness and Zen meditation training.

Retreats include (Full-Day) 7 to 10 hours of zazen (seated meditation); (Half-Day) 4 Hours of zazen, and walking meditation, chanting, formal silent meals in the Zendo (Oryoki), caretaker practice and talks by Seijaku Roshi.

A Mindfulness Meditation Retreat is an opportunity to receive personal guidance in private interviews with Seijaku Roshi (Full-Day Only), to draw from the tremendous strength of people practicing together, and to experience the deep stillness that lies within each
one of us.

The Zen Society exists to inspire, nourish and support people in their everyday life.  In our commitment to bringing the Dharma of Freedom to as many people as possible, and as an expression of our appreciation for the publics support,  as an effort to support members and guests during these difficult transitional economic times, we have chosen to reduce the fees for as many programs as possible.

One-Day Meditation Retreat Under The Stars
Heart Within Retreat - June 14, 2008

The benefits of mediation are enormous and can greatly enhance your physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual health. Meditation is simply the process of stilling the mind so that all wants, needs, and desires disappear and then allowing the Universe to enter and one's own True Nature, one's Buddha Nature, to heal, nurture, and strengthen body/mind.

The Heart Within Retreat located in Vincentown NJ provides a unique opportunity to be  with Mother Earth and the Heavens.  A serene quiet place where you are away from other people, the busyness of everyday responsibilities, and alone with the beautiful sounds of Nature.

Take time to leave behind your thoughts, worries, and busy schedules. Forget  your troubles, and stop thinking about what you need to do. Take time to be.

Spiritual development is linked with regular communion with Nature.  We will spend time with Nature and time Naturally Being.

The schedule will include intervals of seated meditation and walking meditation; an opportunity to receive personal guidance in spiritual direction with Seijaku Roshi; formal "Oryoki" meals, and yoga.
