Zazen (meditation)
is the core of our practice and an essential part of any
Authentic and Sustainable Spiritual Practice. In The Zen
Society, zazen (meditation), service, and ceremonies, are the
bodily enactment of our vow to live our lives as a benefit to
others.

Zazenkai and Sesshin (Meditation Retreats)
Zazenkai - the day includes a Dharma Talk by Seijaku roshi,
periods of seated meditation, walking meditation, formal meals,
private spiritual direction with Seijaku roshi, and work
practice.

Sesshin - The entire day is in silence and includes periods of
seated meditation, walking meditation, formal meals, private
spiritual direction with Seijaku Roshi, Liturgy, and work
practice.

This program
is intended to help participants develop a sustainable daily
meditation practice and the basic skills of mindfulness
and body awareness, as well as achieve a basic
academic understanding of Zen and Buddhist philosophy and how it
applies to living life effectively in the 21st Century.
